Why can’t normal soaps get rid of the smell?
After 40, your skin starts producing more of a compound called 2-Nonenal. This is what causes that musty, slightly oniony "older" smell.
The problem? 2-Nonenal is oil-based. Regular soap is designed to wash away dirt and sweat, so it is not able to wash 2-Nonenal away.
Persimmon fruit contains a natural compound called tannins. They grab onto 2-Nonenal and break it down - getting rid of the smell at its source instead of just covering it up.
Our persimmon soaps are made with unripe persimmons, which pack far more of these active tannins than ripe ones. That's why they clear the smell when ordinary soaps AND our competitors persimmon soaps can't.
